A hope deferred makes the heart sick,

but a dream fulfilled is a tree of life.

Proverbs 12:13

My Truth in Psalm

I am God’s daughter. I look like Him. I possess His qualities. I am unconditionally loved. I am His to care for. I am His to guide. I never get to stop being His.

I am Christ’s friend. He enjoys being with me. He wants to share with me. He desires good things for me. He respects me. He wants me to confide in Him. He wants me to lean on Him when I’m in trouble.

I have been justified. I am free from judgment. I have been made whole. I do not need to prove myself worthy. I do not have to give answers for the choices I make in being faithful to Him.

I am united with the Lord, and I am of one spirit with Him. No matter what the world thinks or says, I am magnificent. The Creator of the universe resides in me. I am capable of all things through His strength. I am a force to be reckoned with because the Spirit of the great I Am is within me.

I was bought with the highest price. I belong to God. Jesus purchased me from sin’s grasp. He paid with His broken body, shed blood, and soul ripped from the Father. I was worth that to Him – now I belong to Him as a special possession.

I am a member of Christ’s body. I perform a necessary function in His work that I was specifically created to do. Just as every cell has a purpose, so do I.

I am a saint. I believe in my heart that Jesus overcame the devil. He died to save ME. I confess with my mouth that He purchased me. He is Lord of all. He is Lord of me. I will dwell in His house in heaven forever.

I have been adopted as God’s child. I was an orphan with no one to provide for my soul, but God chose me. He elevated me to the status of princess. I will share in the inheritance of Christ.

I have direct access to God. I can call on Him at any moment. He sees me. He hears me. He loves me. He answers me. When I quiet my own rhetoric, I can hear him.

I am redeemed and forgiven. Guilt can be cast away. I am clean. I am covered by the blood – and the glory – of Christ.

I am complete in Christ. Marriage does not complete me. Motherhood does not complete me. Work does not complete me. Acceptance or approval will not complete me. No praise can complete me. I am complete as the child, friend, possession, and cherished one of the only living God.
